Roodekrans neighbourhood watch is a community-based organisation in which all the people who live in one area agree to watch out for each other. So if one of your neighbours notices a suspicious character hanging around your house, or a car that keeps driving up and down your block, they will notify you, contact the police or our 24h operations room.
Criminals are warned of an active watch by signs that are posted prominently in the area. When they see these clear signals that the people in this community are working together to prevent crime, they will know their chances of being caught are much higher and go somewhere else. In order to fight crime effectively RNW work collaboratively and in partnership with SAPS and security companies in the area.
The Neighbourhood Watch holds regular meetings for members and interested residents at 19h00, at the NG Church in Azalea Street. These meetings are held on the first Monday of every month and are aimed to give you feedback and also to discuss crime reduction plans in the area. We would like to encourage you to attend these meetings.
